My name is Josie, I am a Junior at East and I enjoy skiing and playing ultimate frisbee. I think that everyone can always learn from the people around them and it is important to do what you can to make your community and the lives of others around you better.

I am Danae Castañeda and I go to York International. I enjoy being involved in the community through clubs and programs such as National Honor Society and Link Crew. I am excited to be apart of Youth Roots.

I was born and raised in Colorado. I am a Vietnamese-American.

I’m Fikri. I am from Eritrea and I love art. In my free time, I love playing basketball . Something I am really passionate about is racism and how it affects healthcare inequality.

My name is Keydi Muñoz Ruiz ,I’m Hispanic and 16 years old .I’m a junior in high school right now and plan on attending college .Two of the main issues that I care about are equality and suicide prevention .I’m really excited to be able and help make a change in our community .

My name is Abigail Payan, I am a senior this year. This year has been difficult for many of us but an issue that I care about is students being able to voice there opinions. Unlike here in Youthroots many kids aren’t able to speak up about things. This because they may be thought of as “too young to know what you are talking about”.

Hi my name is Guadalupe but I like to go by Lupe or Lupita, my pronouns are she/hers, I’m 16, and I like to spend my time with friends and family. One issue i care about is the food system, it’s advertisement and how it negatively impacts the Black and Brown communities. I also enjoy trying new things.

I am in love with books and movies. I am a very hard worker and can set my mind to anything. Also, I am very nerdy and mature in most situations.

My name is Josseline Villegas. I’m currently a junior at York International. I strive to make our community better and better each day. Keeping our environment clean is very important. It is also to very important to acknowledge the less fortunate in our community and do anything possible to help those we can.

I’m a senior attending Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts, and an art intern for Platteforum. I think one of the biggest issues facing our community is gentrification, causing the displacement of hardworking community members around the US. I also really like mushrooms and moss.
