Who can apply for funding?
501(c)3 tax-exempt organizations that serve youth are eligible to apply. Youth are defined as persons 0-18 years old, unless otherwise obvious in the funding priorities description. Individuals are not considered. Grants must ultimately serve youth in and around the community decided by the granting YouthBoard.
Individuals and organizations supporting political candidates are ineligible to apply.
How do I apply?
Please review the full Request(s) for Proposals above to see if you fit with this year’s funding priorities and geographic restrictions. Applicants should complete the appropriate online Grant Application Form(s).
If your organization meets the needs of a board in both the YouthBoard and YouthCharge programs, please save a copy of your answers to submit for both applications.
To apply for funding from our partner boards in Sioux Falls, SD, Boulder, CO, or Yellow Springs, OH, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a copy of their Request for Proposals.
Can my organization apply for funding multiple times in one year?
Absolutely! Please review the Requests for Proposals to ensure you are eligible as each board selects new funding priorities each year. If you submitted an application for funding in the past that you would like to re-use, please email email@example.com.
Can my organization apply for more than one year of funding?
Grants are restricted to one year. Requests for more than one year of funding will not be considered.
What can the grant be used for?
The applicant must use the grant funds only for the purposes for which the grant was made. YouthRoots has the authority to withhold and/or recover grant funds in case such funds are, or appear to be, misused.
