“We’ve already built a community fueled by change, and I’m excited for what’s next.”
My name is Sara Eyassu, and it’s my first year participating in YouthRoots. For me to be a first timer and writing about my favorite part of the organization says a lot. It’ll be a long day of school with a following arduous practice, and then I’ll make my way to the library to meet my team. A team of fellow students who had two tests that day, and conditioned until their legs felt like jelly.
We’re similar but different, and YouthRoots brings that all together. I’ve been provided with a community of youth who want to give back, and it’s inspiring. In the several meetings that we’ve had, diving into each other’s strengths has enabled us to spill ideas. Ideas that provide hope and a movement. We’ve already built a community fueled by change, and I’m excited for what’s next.
