Changes to Fall Programming

Out of concern for the health and safety of our participants and facilitators, YouthRoots has decided to push back the start of in-person programming for our Denver based YouthBoards to January 2021.

In-person programming will run weekly from January to May after school hours. YouthRoots is continuing to monitor the changes resulting from the pandemic. Our programming will be adjusted to align with public health guidelines and prioritize the safety of our participants and facilitators. Some adjustments include:

  • We will be placing no more than 12 students on each YouthBoard to increase the possibility of social distancing during meetings

  • All facilitators will be trained in our new policies regarding COVID-19. These new policies include staying home if participants or facilitators are not feeling well, the use of individual materials as opposed to shared materials, and the requirement of face coverings when social distancing is not possible

  • YouthRoots will be providing PPE for all YouthBoards including hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, gloves, and thermometers

  • We are committed to seeing the full program through while also complying with public health guidelines. Should stricter measures, such as stay at home orders, be put in place at any point during the year, we are prepared to move to virtual sessions in place of in-person meetings

Parents and participants, if you have any questions or concerns regarding participation in the YouthRoots program in person, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@youthroots.org. We want to provide students a space for their voices to be heard in making change in their community and are committed to doing so in the safest and healthiest way possible.

Beginning this fall, we will be running our 100% virtual YouthCharge program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and interested students can apply here.
