Suzanne Humphries, MPP, Program Director, National Conference of Sate Legislatures
A Denver native, Suzanne has a passion for education equity and access. As Program Director in the Strategic Initiatives Program at the National Conference of State Legislatures she oversees issues around labor, occupational licensing and workforce development. Suzanne joined NCSL in 2013 as a policy specialist in postsecondary education with a focus on topics including community colleges, workforce development and underserved student populations. Prior to joining NCSL, Suzanne served as Deputy Chief of Staff for two lieutenant governors in Colorado where she worked on issues ranging from early childhood education to higher education and workforce development. A graduate of Denver Public Schools, Suzanne moved to Seattle after high school to attend the University of Washington and then crossed the country to work for a non-profit and two US Senators in Washington, DC. After nearly eight years away from the mountains of her home state, she moved back to Denver and began growing her professional network, working on political campaigns and volunteering with numerous organizations.
Suzanne spends her free time mentoring a young girl, spending time in the mountains and traveling with her husband George and young daughter.Suzanne Humphries
